Today, Democrat Kelly Mazeski, running to replace Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06), announced that she received the endorsements of Congresswomen Lois Frankel (FL-21) and Debbie Dingell (MI-12). Momentum continues to build for Kelly’s campaign, as Congresswomen Frankel and Dingell are her third and fourth endorsements in the past two weeks.
“I know the importance of women having a voice in Congress, and Kelly Mazeski is the woman I support in the race to replace Peter Roskam next year,” said Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL- 21). “She is the candidate who will force Roskam to answer tough questions about why he voted to take healthcare away from millions of Americans and why he wrote a tax reform bill that increases taxes on middle-class families.”
“Kelly is the Democrat in the race who can win in November and act as a check and balance on the Trump Administration’s dangerous agenda,” said Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12). “As a strong advocate for providing all Americans with quality, affordable healthcare, Kelly is the candidate who will hold Congress accountable for voting to make Americans pay more to get less for their health insurance.”
“I am honored to have the support of two women with such a strong commitment to public service,” said Kelly Mazeski. “Both women are leaders in Congress and I would be honored to call them my colleagues on Capitol Hill.”
As a breast cancer survivor, and a mother of a daughter with a rare medical condition, Kelly understands that an individual’s health and financial circumstances can change in an instant because of a medical emergency. She’s running for Congress to hold Peter Roskam accountable for voting to take healthcare away from millions of Americans and helping write a tax bill that will raise taxes on Illinois middle class families while giving tax cuts to big corporations.
Congresswomen Lois Frankel and Debbie Dingell’s endorsements follows the Illinois Democratic County Chairmen’s Association and the Feminist Majority PAC last week and a month after EMILY’s List, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (IL-09), and Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-
17) endorsed Kelly. Last month, the Cook Political Report moved IL-06 from Lean Republican to Tossup noting that “the large Democratic primary is led by [former] financial adviser and former North Barrington Village Trustee Kelly Mazeski.”
